Number-crunching is not yet finished, but Amy Scott expects this year's Brown County Fair was a good one.
Scott, the fair manager, said she expects attendance to be higher than last year's record estimate of 259,246. Attendance numbers are based on traffic counts and include people who go to the fair more than once on a given day.
Ticket sales to grandstand entertainment were very strong, and while there were good crowds all week long, the Saturday Dierks Bentley concert was especially well-attended, she said. The midway took in record revenue, she said.
Pleasant weather helped boost fair attendance, Scott said.
"It was a great, great, great fair," she said.
Fair-goers also left plenty of items behind, and Scott said there's a lost and found at the Brown County Auditor's Office in the courthouse annex at 25 Market St., Aberdeen. Items in the lost and found include keys, purses, credit cards and more, she said.
