The Avera St. Luke’s Board of Directors will welcome four new members, according to a news release.
Dr. Lyle Biegler, Dr. Jean Gerber, Carmen Meyer and Robert Fouberg will replace Gary Sharp, Deb Knecht, Stuart Lonning and Richard Westra.
Biegler, Gerber, Meyer and Fouberg will be serving four-year terms.
Biegler, who practices at Avera Aberdeen Family Physicians, is a native of Timber Lake. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and the University of Minnesota-Morris. He completed his residency at the Center for Family Medicine in Sioux Falls before coming to Aberdeen in 2007.
Gerber has been a surgeon at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital since 1986. She attended medical school for two years at the University of South Dakota, then attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where she earned her medical degree and completed her residency. Gerber received her bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University.
Meyer, along with her husband, Don, who retired from coaching men’s basketball at Northern State University, is helping lead the fundraising campaign for the new Avera Cancer Institute Aberdeen. Meyer earned her bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University and master’s degree from Tennessee State University. She serves as secretary-treasurer of Don Meyer Enterprises Inc.
Fouberg is senior vice president and general counsel for Dacotah Bank in Aberdeen. He has been involved with many local organizations. Fouberg brings a background in banking, economics and law to the board. He is a graduate of Augustana College, the University of Nebraska College of Law and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking.
