Sidekicks, a youth mentoring program, will host a kids' fishing tournament at Wylie Park on Aug. 7.
The fishing tournament is open to boys and girls ages 15 and younger. There will be three divisions based on age for both boys and girls. Prizes will be awarded for most fish caught and biggest fish caught in each age division.
Registration packets may be picked up at the Aberdeen Family YMCA, the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and Ken's SuperFair Foods, or contact Aaron Kjenstad at email@example.com or 605-377-5101.
The tournament is free to enter.
On Aug. 7, registration will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Pizza, snacks and drinks will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. in exchange for a free will offering. A fishing demonstration will be led by conservation officer Nick Cochran from South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The fishing tournament will run from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Awards are at 8:30 p.m.
