An additional afternoon flight will be added from Oct. 13 to Oct. 31, said Mike Wilson, airport manager. The extra flights are scheduled for six days a week. Saturdays are the only days when there will be two flights.
On Oct. 14, the day before the nonresident pheasant-hunting opener, 76-passenger jets will be used to accommodate extra passengers. Normally, 50-seat jets serve the airport.
The Aberdeen Area Visitors and Convention Bureau will greet passengers who come off the plane Oct. 13-14. The Red Cross will serve pheasant sandwiches.
"Hunting season is a busy time for us, and Delta recognizes that," Wilson said.
Delta arrival times will be 12:39 p.m., 2:21 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. Departure times will be 6:35 a.m., 1:05 p.m. and 2:46 p.m.
In addition to more commercial jet traffic, there will be more private jet traffic. Many private jets will be parked at the airport, especially during the first part of hunting season, Wilson said.
