Blue collar comedy sensation Larry the Cable Guy takes another crack at movie stardom with "Delta Farce," which distributor Lionsgate declined to screen in advance of opening day.

The comedy co-stars Larry's comedy pal Bill Engvall and DJ Qualls ("Hustle and Flow") as Army reservists bound for Iraq who are unknowingly detoured to Mexico.

Larry's cinematic track record is mixed, to put it kindly. He received good reviews for his voice work as dim-witted tow truck Mater in Pixar's hit "Cars," but his starring vehicle "Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector" failed to "get 'er done." The poorly reviewed movie made just over $15 million, earned Larry a Razzie nom for worst actor and currently ranks #74 on IMDb's list of 100 lowest rated movies.

With an opening in the midst of a blockbuster-heavy May, right between "Spider-Man 3" and "Shrek the Third," "Delta Farce" will have a hard time winning the box office battle.
