Charlie Keller

Former Yankees star Charlie Keller had a solid 13-year baseball career, even earning a day in his honor at Yankee Stadium for his contributions to three World Series titles. But the Middletown native was at least as revered in the horse racing industry. When his playing days ended in the early 1950s, he bought land on the outskirts of Frederick, where his family would raise champion thoroughbreds for 50 years.
