Interns Sam Moll of Reading plants bean seeds at the Rodale Institute in Maxatawny Township, Berks County on Thursday. To make locally grown produce more available to city residents, the Farm Shares program has paired three local farms with social services agencies serving three of the Lehigh Valley's poorer neighborhoods, one each in Easton, Allentown and Bethlehem. The Rodale Institute, which will be supplying the Allentown pick-up location at Sacred Heart Hospital, successfully piloted the idea last year with locations in Emmaus, Reading and Bethlehem.
