Opening soon: New Thai restaurant in South Whitehall

You'll soon be able to get your fill of Pad Thai, Red Curry and Tamarind Duck in South Whitehall Township.

Owners of the new Thai Avenue Restaurant in South Whitehall hope to open next week, once they pass inspections.

After I took a photo of the outside of the restaurant, next to Dunkin' Donuts in the Kmart Shopping Center, a friendly employee opened the door,  handed me a menu and told me of their opening plans.

It will serve lunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Mondays to Fridays and dinners Mondays to Saturdays.

Lunch specials ($7.99, $9.99 for shrimp dishes) come with a house salad and include Kraprow (basil ground chicken), Cashew Nut, currys, Drunken Noodle (stir-fried flat noodles with broccoli, tomato, onion, bell peppers, egg, chili and basil leaves) and the always-popular Pad Thai.

For dinner, they offer 10 stir-fry entrees ($12.99-$19.99), seven duck dishes ($19.99), five curry offerings ($13.99-$19.99), five noodle dishes ($11.99-$13.99) as well as fried rice and seafood dishes. Chef Specials include Lobster Tom Yum ($23.99) and Shrimp Mango ($19.99).

I'll be sure to scurry over for some curry once they open up.
