Valley's first sweetFrog closes, but another one in works

After less than a year of business, the Lehigh Valley’s first sweetFrog closed its doors about two weeks ago in South Whitehall Township. The frozen yogurt shop, part of a nationwide chain, was located in the Village West shopping center at 3060 Tilghman St.

Former manager Kaitlyn Lukehart, who is now a manager at the company’s Wyomissing location, attributed the closure to slow foot traffic.

The business debuted July 31 amid a sea of other frozen yogurt shop openings, which included Mixies in Emmaus, Frozenlandia in Easton and Menchie's in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.

But fear not, sweetFrog fans! According to the company’s social media associate James Denison, sweetFrog is in final negotiations with a franchisee to open a shop at Dorney Park in South Whitehall Township. The company hopes to finalize the agreement within the next two weeks, he said.
