Flags fly at half staff over New York's Yankee Stadium on Aug. 17, 1948, in honor of the player who put it on the map Babe Ruth, who had died the previous day. The House That Ruth Built is now in its last year of play, with a new ballpark set to open across the street. Tours of the old park are being offered to the public through at least Sept. 19. Advance tickets are required: Go to yankees.com. The tours are offered seven days a week, but note there are many exceptions.
