Three French Hens: Krzysztof Kieslowski's 'Three Colors' trilogy

Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski assembled three of France's greatest actresses, Juliette Binoche, Julie Delpy and Irene Jacob, for his trilogy of films emulating the colors and the motto of France: "Bleu" (liberty), "Blanc" (equality) and "Rouge" (fraternity). The three films -- two dramas and a comedy -- share characters, a strictly controlled color palette and some of the best reviews of the three actresses' careers.
