The Norse gods haven't gotten as much screen time as their Greek and Roman counterparts, but the release of "Thor" will put the spotlight on that sect of worshiped beings for a while. And the focus will continue in next year's "Avengers" film.
We've compiled a small list of some memorable portrayals of gods and a couple of all-powerful beings that are (mostly) not thought of as mainstream mythological marvels. But first, one of the standards.
