Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis in 'Thelma & Louise' (1991) Let's face it. A woman can't shoot a would-be rapist without federal authorities driving her and her best friend over a cliff. Spoilers be damned, everybody knows how this story ends. Two bored female acquaintances cross paths with the wrong guy. After he manhandles Thelma, the XY eats a bullet from Louise's gun, then the two XXs embark on a cross country chase. But lady vengeance momentarily takes a backseat to a motel quickie with a then-unknown Brad Pitt. Never mind the part about a car at the bottom of canyon.
