In his first true "talkie" movie, <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PECLB000936" title="Charlie Chaplin" href="/topic/entertainment/charlie-chaplin-PECLB000936.topic">Charlie Chaplin</a> delivered a scathing satire of Hitler, in the film "Adenoid Hynkel," ruthless dictator of the fictional nation of Tomainia. Hynkel dances with inflatable globes as he ponders world domination, goes duck hunting during an invasion, and, in a caricature of Hitler's oratory style, delivers a German-sounding rally speech, peppered with the words schnitzel, sauerkraut and liverwurst.
