Marshall Mathers as Eminem as Slim Shady

Marshall is his given name, and he adopted Eminem as his performing name, but Slim Shady and Eminem shouldn't be interchanged. Eminem has stated in interviews that Shady is an exaggerated persona he created for his first major album, "The Slim Shady LP," and that the things Shady raps about -- such as driving to the beach to dispose of his dead wife's body -- shouldn't be seen as a reflection of Eminem's own life. Eminem followed up with the first single off his next album, "The Marshall Mathers LP," titled "The Real Slim Shady."Karin Catt
