OVERRATED Roman Polanski's latest thriller: "The Ghost Writer" has been praised for Hitchcockian levels of tension, but we left the theater feeling tense only in our spines from being seated far too long. Often lethargically paced when it should be crackling yet filled with rushed turns in plot and character, this felt more like the Polanski of 1999's uneven "The Ninth Gate" than of "Chinatown."
