OVERRATED: Carrie Bradshaw

As if the "Sex and the City" movies hadn't done enough to tarnish the show's legacy, the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORCRP0000010054" title="The CW (tv network)" href="/topic/business/media-industry/television-industry/the-cw-%28tv-network%29-ORCRP0000010054.topic">CW</a> turns to its central character with the teen prequel <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ENTTV00001069" title="The Carrie Diaries (tv program)" href="/topic/entertainment/television/the-carrie-diaries-%28tv-program%29-ENTTV00001069.topic">"The Carrie Diaries."</a> Armed with '80s fashion and (judging by the trailer) an unreasonable amount of campy synthesizer sounds, this show should finally eliminate any discernible difference between the previously unique Bradshaw and any given <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ENTTV00000019" title="Gossip Girl (tv program)" href="/topic/entertainment/television/gossip-girl-%28tv-program%29-ENTTV00000019.topic">"Gossip Girl."</a>

As if the "Sex and the City" movies hadn't done enough to tarnish the show's legacy, the CW turns to its central character with the teen prequel "The Carrie Diaries." Armed with '80s fashion and (judging by the trailer) an unreasonable amount of campy synthesizer sounds, this show should finally eliminate any discernible difference between the previously unique Bradshaw and any given "Gossip Girl."
