Mira Sorvino

Supporting actress 1996, "Mighty Aphrodite" A breakout role in a Woody Allen film should guarantee at least a few years of high-profile roles. But aside from a well-received comedy, "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion," and an early misfire from a promising director, Guillermo del Toro's "Mimic," Sorvino's star has stayed low in the sky. In recent years she's turned up on "House" and garnered a Golden Globe nomination for her appearance in a Lifetime movie, "Human Trafficking." Not terrible, true, but not on the same level as an Oscar.
