This Sporting Life: The 7-1 center played for the Orlando Magic from 1992-96, the Lakers until 2004, the Miami Heat until midway through the 2007-2008 season, the Phoenix Suns until 2009, the Cleveland Cavaliers until 2010, then ended his career in 2011 with the Boston Celtics.
Reel Life: He hasn't scored too well on the big screen. Little was demanded of him in the 1994 basketball movie "Blue Chips." And O'Neal didn't win critical kudos for his role as a genie in the 1996 fantasy "Kazaam." Equally disastrous was the 1997 actioner "Steel," of which the New York Times wrote: "O'Neal displays an endearing smile, a genial personality and an almost total lack of the charisma and acting skills that his role calls for." His best performance to date was his cameo with Dr. Phil in 2006's "Scary Movie 4."
