Annie Hall Although Woody Allen seems to have abandoned his beloved New York for European locales of late, the city plays a very important part and is beautifully captured by cinematographer Gordon Willis in his 1977 Oscar-winning romantic comedy about the tumultuous love affair between neurotic comic Alvy Singer and a sweet, slightly eccentric struggling WASP singer named Annie Hall (Diane Keaton).
