Will the commercials end long enough for the show to start? When last we saw an MTV award show, it was the MTV Movie Awards, which didn’t feel like much of a show at all. Instead, the telecast played out like some film industry telethon, parading out star after star to shamelessly hawk his or her latest film. And even when Coldplay performed, the act was upstaged by its very own iPod commercial, which seemed to air every break.
