Hoyt S. Pardee, center, and his brothers, George Jr., left, and J. Douglas, formed Pardee Construction after World War II. It became one of the more prolific home builders in the region, constructing housing tracts around Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas. The company is now known as Pardee Homes.
