Henry Hopkins, 1928 - 2009

Henry Hopkins directed the San Francisco <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLCUL000195" title="Museum of Modern Art" href="/topic/arts-culture/art/museum-of-modern-art-PLCUL000195.topic">Museum of Modern Art</a> before returning to UCLA, where he led the Wight Art Gallery and the Hammer Museum. The Idaho native had been painting most of his life and became entrenched in the L.A. art world after moving here in 1957.
