Former Argentine president Alfonsin dies at 82

Raul Alfonsin was Argentina's first democratically elected president after tthe loss of the Falkland Islands war ended military rule. He was elected in 1983 and served until 1989, winning widespread acclaim for putting military officers on trial for alleged "dirty war" crimes.
