Hellboy

Dark Horse Comics' Hellboy, as seen in the comics and two feature films, bears a number of resemblances to Siegfried, the protagonist of the final two operas in Wagner’s "Ring" cycle. Both are portrayed as overgrown, muscle-bound lugs with underdeveloped emotional sides. They were also both orphaned at a young age and raised by wizened mentor figures who taught them their awesome fighting skills. Above: a scene from " Hellboy II: The Golden Army."
