7. The Grinch

“You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch.” Dr. Seuss created a classic with the 1957 publication of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” and it only gained more holiday magic when animation icon Chuck Jones and voice-actor Boris Karloff brought deliciously dastard charm to Whoville in the 1966 cartoon version. There was also a movie with Jim Carrey in a hairy green suit but, well, let’s just move on. Did you know? Jones met Seuss during World War II when they worked in the Armed Forces Motion Picture Unit led by Frank Capra.
