Amy Ryan

The Broadway theater actress, who also appeared in such series as "The Wire," has received numerous critics groups awards as well as Golden Globe, SAG Award and Oscar nominations for supporting actress for her no-holds-barred portrayal of Helene McCready, the drug-addled single mom of a 4-year-old kidnapped girl. Helene, who lives in the lower-class area of Boston, is an unapologetic tramp who leaves her daughter alone or with relatives to score drugs or a trick. Although Helene makes Joan Crawford look like a poster child for motherhood, audiences actually feel empathy thanks to Ryan's finely nuanced performance.
