Israeli worker weighs retirement options

Mazal Shachar, 64, a Tel Aviv bank bookkeeper, says her pension savings account has shrunk 30% this year, derailing her carefully made plans to retire in a year. She had expected to draw about $2,450 a month in retirement, a sum similar to her current salary, but now estimates that the figure would be $1,825, not enough to support herself.
