Dismissed: Tenants lose, landlords win in Baltimore’s rent court

Ted Haggard

By Denise Martin and Jevon Phillips Ted Haggard, once a powerful evangelical leader and president of the National Assn. of Evangelicals, confessed to "sexual immorality" after a male prostitute alleged in 2006 that he had a cash-for-sex relationship with the preacher. An HBO documentary, "The Trials of Ted Haggard," premiering Thursday, tells the story of his attempt to recover from the scandal. We look at other scandalous preachers, albeit fictitious ones, whose tales have been told on film through the years.
