Hiking Mt. Hoffmann

In 1863, topographer Charles F. Hoffmann climbed this mountain, which was named after him a few years later. Hoffmann then named May Lake after his fiancee, Lucy Mayotta Browne. Famed naturalist John Muir once said nearly all of Yosemite is "displayed like a map" from the summit of Mt. Hoffmann.
