Hotel Coolidge, White River Junction, Vt.

Hotel Coolidge is named not for a U.S. president but for the father of one. The hotel began as an overnight hotel for railroad travelers, in 1849. In 1924, the hotel's owner renamed it for his close friend, Col. John Calvin Coolidge, father of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th president of the United States. Both the president and his father frequented the hotel. Rooms start at $99.
