Gallant Fox and jockey Earl Sande, in sweeping the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes in 1930, became the second horse and rider to win the Triple Crown. Gallant Fox retired to stud, siring successful offspring including future Triple Crown winner Omaha.
