The Dodgers own Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick.

Their starting lineup Sunday had a career .348 batting average, .402 on-base percentage and .596 slugging percentage split against the right-handed Kendrick (7-4, 3.46 earned-run average), who took the mound for Philadelphia as the Dodgers went for their eighth win in nine games.

Five players, led by catcher A.J. Ellis, were hitting at least .313 against Kendrick, though Skip Schumaker was arguably the most successful with nine hits, including four for extra bases, in 21 plate appearances.

Kendrick had not faced the Dodgers this season, but he had a 5-4 record with a 7.58 ERA in 10 games and seven starts against them over his career. His ERA, 1.69 walks per nine innings and 1.13 strikeouts per walk against the Dodgers are second worst among any team Kendrick has faced more than once in his career.
