Up next for the Lakers: Friday vs. Sacramento

When: 7:30.

Where: Staples Center.

On the air: TV: TWC SportsNet, TWC Deportes; Radio: 710, 1330.

Records: Lakers 19-39, Kings 20-37.

Record vs. Kings: 2-0.

Update: It's the battle for the Western Conference basement! Actually it's not. Even if the Lakers win, they'll still be in last place. The Kings have won three of their last five games, considered a great run for them, though they got blown out at home Tuesday by Houston, 129-103, when James Harden had 43 points in only three quarters. Center DeMarcus Cousins, the Kings' leading scorer and rebounder, is suspended for Friday's game because he punched Rockets guard Patrick Beverley in Tuesday's game.
