Although he was a novice in the jazz world, Bob Popescu aimed high when it came to booking performers, persuading Dizzy Gillespie to play at the Catalina Bar & Grill soon after it opened. With his sweetness and his heart, Popescus wife, Catalina, said of her husband, Dizzy couldnt resist him.
