This satellite image shows changes in the amounts of light from various sources over eight years. Black areas indicate brightly lit areas in 1992 and 2000. Red portions show areas where lighting increased over eight years. Yellow indicates light sources in 2000 that did not exist in 1992. Blue represents areas that were brighter in 1992 than in 2000.
