Fourth person dies of injuries from SXSW crash in Austin, Texas

A fourth person has died of injuries sustained when a car driven by man suspected of being drunk hit several people during the South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas, police said Thursday.

DeAndre Tatum, 18, who had been in critical condition since the incident on March 13, died Thursday, Veneza Bremner, an Austin senior police officer, told the Los Angeles Times.

His girlfriend, 19-year-old Curtisha Davis, was injured but was released from a  hospital last week.

Sandy Le, 26; Steven Craenmehr, 35; and Jamie West, 27, were also killed.

Rashad Owens is being held on a capital murder charge, but could face other charges after the grand jury considers the case. He is accused of drunken driving, fleeing from police and intentionally driving into a crowd of festival-goers.

Owens is scheduled to make his first court appearance on April 9.
