Scott Carpenter | 1925-2013

M. Scott Carpenter, one of the seven original Mercury astronauts, was the second American to orbit Earth and the fourth American in space. He was also the nation's first astro-aquanaut, descending 200 feet to the ocean floor off La Jolla to launch an undersea habitation called Sealab II in 1965. Read obituary
