Revisiting the heyday of department stores and five-and-dimes

Seeing that DeVoss was immobilized, Brown teasingly lifted his bed clothes to peek at his naked body. “It was one of those funny wartime situations,” DeVoss recalled. “Let’s laugh and have a good time ‘cause tomorrow we may die.”
