Eight smaller 2009 models were recently tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="http://www.iihs.org/default.html">IIHS</a>) on front, side and rear crashes (simulated by what could be a tall SUV or truck). The Mini Cooper was the only "micro-car" of the bunch and it fared pretty well, although the side impact was rated only "Average."<br>
