The Streisand collection

In 1968, Streisand made the film version of "Hello, Dolly!" "They asked what kind of furnishing did I want in the trailer," she recalls. "I said I wanted [legendary turn-of-the-century actress] Sarah Bernhardt's railroad car. And, boy, that's what I got." This Victorian Rococo papier mache armchair with mother-of-pearl inlay, gilt and paint decorated details is valued at $300 to $500. The chair did not sell, but a matching tilt-top table brought in $687.50.
