A selection of ceramic vessels

Jerome Ackerman made these ceramic vessels in 1953 and '54 for the Jenev pottery collection. The pieces caught the eye of acclaimed East Coast furniture designer Paul McCobb, who used them as accessories when photographing his own work. These slip-cast earthenware bowls, vases and decanter -- sold for $4 to $20 apiece in the 1950s -- are now museum-worthy.
