Brian Cushing, the former USC Trojans linebacker who plays professionally for the Houston Texans, and his wife, Megan, have purchased a Houston-area home for $2.2 million.

The newly built residence sits on a tree-lined street in the affluent city of West University.

The three-story Traditional features vaulted interiors with a chef’s kitchen, a formal living room, a dining room, a library/study, four bedrooms and five baths within more than 5,400 square feet of living space.

A game room, a wine cellar and a spiral staircase are among the amenities. An elevator shaft is in place to service all levels.

Cushing, 27, is now in his sixth season with the Texans. He and wife Megan, a former USC soccer player, welcomed their second child on Wednesday, a boy.

Sale of the property closed at the end of May, records show. The home originally listed for sale in January at $2.1999 million. Frank Liu of Lovett Realty was the listing agent. Carol Rowley of Greenwood King Properties represented the Cushings in the sale.
