The HBO crime drama, set in Atlantic City during the Prohibition era, is based on the real-life politician (and bootlegger) Enoch L. Johnson.
The show premiered 2010 and was met with critical acclaim, particularly for Steve Buscemi as criminal kingpin "Nucky" Thompson, and has gone on to win a dozen Emmys and a Golden Globe for best drama.
