The Fleetwood Mac singer (and mystic style icon for generations) has long been a favorite in the Murphy universe. "Glee" devoted a whole episode to the music of the Mac, and the show's character Misty Day, played by Lily Rabe, nurtures a borderline-unhealthy fixation on Nicks' music. After Glee actor Corey Moneith's death, Nicks had reportedly been in close contact with Murphy and that show's star Lea Michele.
But now, with the intervention of a little casting-office eye of newt, Nicks is reportedly set to appear in a guest-starring role on the show this season.
As Murphy explained it to Entertainment Weekly, "So I called Stevie Nicks, and first I said, ‘I want to use you in the show.’ But she was very resistant because from the beginning of her career people who are in the Wiccan community had given her a hard time thinking she was a witch, and she got a lot of scary fan letters. She didn’t like the darkness of that, and I explained to her the part and she’s like, ‘Aw ... let’s just do it. OK, I love it.’”
The show's been mum about the part and when Nicks will appear this season. But rest assured you probably won't listen to "Gypsy" the same way after the smoke clears.
