Appearances: Jaws, played by 7' 2" actor Richard Kiel, made his first appearance in 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me." Kiel reprised the role for "Moonraker" in 1979. Honcho or henchman? Henchman, though Jaws has perhaps made more of an impression than the evil rich guys he works for. In "The Spy Who Loved Me," submarine thief and shipping tycoon Karl Stromberg (Curd Jürgens) enlists Jaws to assassinate James Bond (Roger Moore). The two face off again in "Moonraker," this time at the behest of space shuttle thief Hugo Drax (Michael Lonsdale). Dastardly distinction: Jaws is best remembered for his formidable metal chompers, which at one point he uses to bite through cable car wire, and his ability to survive almost anything, including going over a waterfall, getting hit by a van and being thrown from a train. When 007 drops him in a shark tank in "The Spy Who Loved Me," Jaws survives by biting the shark.
