Kelly Clarkson guessed at it in November, and it turns out Mama's instincts were right: The singer is having a baby girl!
"We just found out we're having a girl officially! I knew it!," Clarkson said Monday on Twitter. "Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting ha!"
The original "American Idol" was placing her bet early, right after she announced her pregnancy. She was in her first trimester at the time, but she was so sick she had to cancel something and didn't want people to think she was lazy — so she and now-hubby Brandon Blackstock went public earlier than most.
A week after announcing she was expecting, Clarkson hit the "Today" show and explained why she was convinced a girl was on the way, citing "a gut feeling" and "a scientific feeling why."
"She's killing me," the "Catch My Breath" singer said with a laugh. "Of course it's a girl, causing the trouble.
"I don't know why they call it morning sickness — that's my big joke right now — because it's, like, all day and all night," the 31-year-old said. "I am super excited about being pregnant. I'm just looking forward to the second trimester. They say it's better."
On "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in December, when she was 11 weeks along, Clarkson said she was vomiting about a dozen times a day and couldn't wait for her second trimester, when things might be better.
Clarkson and talent manager Blackstock, who got engaged in December 2012, got married in a small ceremony in Tennessee in October.
