'King of the Hill' (1997-2010)

Only in Texas: This Emmy-winning animated series pays tribute to the "Republic of Texas," as Peggy Hill calls it, and the culture of its small towns in nearly every little detail. Boomhauer is (possibly) a Texas Ranger, and his barely understandable dialogue is dappled with "dad gum" and "I tell you what." Bobby Hill attends Tom Landry Middle School, named for the former Dallas Cowboys coach. And after a twister leaves Hank Hill without any clothes, and his two options to cover himself are a potted cactus or a Texas flag, he picks the cactus without thinking twice about defiling the flag.
Who wears cowboy hats? Most everyone at some point in the series, though they're just as likely to be wearing ball caps. Hank Hill's deranged father, World War II veteran Cotton Hill, probably wears a cowboy hat most often.
