Blue Ivy: Beyoncé and Jay-Z look to trademark baby name

The name Blue Ivy may soon be off the market, at least in the business world. Beyoncé (seen above showing off her <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/gossip/2012/02/beyonce-post-baby-body-jay-z-carnegie-hall-blue-ivy-carter.html" target="blank">post-baby body</a> this week) and Jay-Z have <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/gossip/2012/02/blue-ivy-trademark-beyonce-jay-z.html" target="blank">filed papers to trademark</a> their month-old daughter's name for possible use on a line of baby goods. The new parents have no time to waste. Already, two Blue Ivy applicants have tried to obtain the name since the little girl's birth, but both were turned down.
