Hit: 'The Hunger Games' buzz

Buzz for "The Hunger Games" film based on Suzanne Collins' bestselling children's book series has been, er, catching fire. Jennifer Lawrence plays the film's heroine, Katniss Everdeen, a teenager who volunteers to take her younger sister’s place in a cruel competition of children forced to fight to the death for the amusement of the wealthy and the political gain of the powerful in the post-apocalyptic nation Panem. Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth also star in the film, which hits theaters March 23. In the meantime, a short preview aired at the MTV Video Music awards, the cast debuted in-costume character posters, the film's trailer brought Panem to life, "The Simpsons" referenced the story in an especially geeky episode, and fans went on a Twitter scavenger hunt for puzzle pieces to build the newest poster.
